Sveriges Radio's mission is to broadcast radio in the public interest, and we have 7.4 million listeners each week. Over half of the population engages with our offerings in some form every day, whether through live linear radio or on-demand, via FM, on our own digital platforms, or with other providers. We offer credible knowledge, in-depth content, companionship, and entertainment. Working at Sveriges Radio means that, regardless of your role, you are a valuable part of an important mission.

We need to continue to be innovative, and therefore we need you to lead us towards more technical successes! As an operations manager at Sveriges Radio, you will be at the center of events and become an important part of a company that values democracy, free speech, and the equal worth of all people.

Here, you will help ensure that every broadcast reaches our millions of listeners.

Sveriges Radio aims to scrutinize, entertain, and challenge with its content. We have a significant societal responsibility to reach out to Sweden with our offerings, regardless of the situation. To guarantee this, SR must maintain high security for production and distribution, so that our audience can always trust our availability. At the operations center (DC), we work to ensure this. We monitor, troubleshoot, and escalate incidents that affect broadcasting and publishing around the clock, every day of the year. We are a team that together maintains high delivery capability and operational reliability, where there is always room to learn and grow.

About the Operations Center and the Role

Working as an operations manager is a responsible, varied, and unique role. In the operational work, you handle connections, monitor broadcasting, systems & services, and play a key role in managing small and large incidents. To take on this responsibility, we continuously work on skill development and exercises. In addition to operational work, you will also work to some extent on technical development and management of the operations center's technical environment.

The Candidate We Are Looking For

As a person, we want you to be service-oriented, meticulous, detail-oriented, and comfortable making decisions in pressured situations. Regardless of your background, you will have much to learn, so we appreciate a knowledge-seeking attitude. To work with us, you also need to be punctual and responsible. You thrive in working irregular hours and can handle both high pressure and periods of calm.

The operations center is an important part of Sveriges Radio's incident preparedness, and therefore it is a plus if you have previous experience from a similar role and work in a NOC or equivalent. Experience in audio, networking, monitoring, incident management, or problem-solving is also advantageous. Since the position partly involves development and management of broadcasting systems, competence in full-stack development and AoIP is also meritorious. The right person who is attentive and brings great engagement along with technical interest can learn what is required during our training period.

Employment Conditions

Your workplace will be in Falun, and you will initially work mainly during office hours, transitioning later to also cover morning and evening shifts. The role also includes rotation on standby outside regular working hours, including holidays, with compensation according to collective agreements. Parts of the training will take place at Radiohuset Stockholm. The position is a permanent employment with an initial 6-month probationary period.

Sveriges Radio is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure and has an important role in total defense. Our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, and therefore a background check of the candidate is conducted for many of the positions in our operations before employment occurs. For positions that lead to participation in security-sensitive activities or placement in a security class, this check means that a security review is conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
